Jim Chapman Named to 2017-18 NAHB Land Development Committee

Posted on: March 8th, 2017

As a builder and developer of a wide array of neighborhoods in the greater Atlanta area, including luxury homes and active adult communities, Jim Chapman is committed to giving back to the home building industry.

Earlier this year, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) named Jim Chapman Second Vice Chairman of the Land Development Committee in recognition of his expertise and growing national prominence in the building industry and BUILD-PAC.

Spurred by interest in and concern for economic, environmental and community impacts, the Land Development Committee supports, develops and promotes responsible, innovative, high-quality and cost-effective land development practices, programs and resources.

Additionally, the committee reviews and advocates national, state and local land development legislation, rules and regulation that ensure a balanced approach between economic and environmental systems. Committee members also make recommendations on technical matters such as infrastructure, design and development, and planning, zoning and subdivision regulations.

Involved Leadership

Currently, Jim is a member of the regulatory affairs and government affairs committees of the Home Builders Association of Georgia. This year, he is also Vice President of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) and is slated to become the group’s president in 2018.

Jim further serves as the founding chairman of the ALL Home program, a voluntary statewide certification created by the Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG) to promote accessibility and universal design.

In 2016, Jim served as the Chair of the NAHB 55+ Housing Industry Council.

“I am honored to be part of the building industry, and I want to do my part.”
