Roger and Charlotte Dreher were self-described “Fulton County brats”. That is until they moved to Brookhaven of East Cobb in August 2009. With two grown kids, the couple was looking to downsize without compromising the quality of their home.
“There are some major benefits of buying here, especially on taxes,” said Dreher. “My taxes are one-third of what I paid for in Fulton County. It’s hard to not like that.”
It’s not just the extra money in their pockets however that has the Dreher’s saying that moving to Brookhaven of East Cobb was the best thing they have ever done.
“After the first weekend of living here, we knew the names of all of our neighbors,” said Charlotte. “Since we have moved in we have never looked back. We are very active in the community and attend numerous parties, dinners and events. There is truly something in this community for everyone.”
The couple was drawn to the community initially because of its outwards appearance. Upon taking a closer look, the couple found a close-knit community that offers residents quality homes that feature elegant details such as brick exteriors with stacked stone accents, custom wood trim, 12 to 16 foot vaulted ceilings, great rooms with gas fireplaces featuring decorative wood mantels and master suite baths with large his/her vanities with full-length mirrors and ceramic tile showers.
