jcc-i.jpgOne of the Jim Chapman Communities is undergoing changes.  The active adult community of Brookhaven at Johns Creek conveniently located in the Atlanta area is awaiting the finish of a quadraplex. This has been the first community to see new construction since late 2008. The construction will include four new homes and feature a brand new model called the Westminster II-Supermaster. The beautiful community of Brookhaven at Sugarloaf is expecting a new quadraplex in the near future as well.

Brookhaven at Johns Creek is a peaceful gated community designed to provide its residents with a relaxing and simplistic lifestyle. The community offers two- to four-bedroom single family homes all with stone and stone construction. Vaulted ceilings and oversized master suites highlight the homes. There’s also lighted tennis courts, walking trails and a fitness room for those who like to stay active. Jim Chapman Communities likes to make their communities stand out from the rest. One unique aspect of the community is planned activities coordinated by the communities’ lifestyle director. Themed parties, get-to-gethers and trips to various places are offered throughout the year, so there is never a dull moment.

The Haven at Lost Mountain has Live-In Agent

Most Georgians can agree that the daily commute in Atlanta traffic is one of the most common stressors we  face. Each day residents gear up for the long commute in traffic on the highways, knowing that it’s going to be a long ride to and from work.

This is not the case for Karen Kubecka, whose daily commute is all of 25 feet door to door.

Kubecka began her career in Internet marketing, but about three years back felt an urge to try something new. Looking  for an age friendly career where she could utilize her current skills, Kubecka came across Jim Chapman Communities.  She started as a hostess for the Brookhaven at Sugarloaf location, but worked diligently to earn her real estate license.

Upon obtaining her license, Kubecka looked for a community to establish both herself and her career. She got her chance when Jim Chapman built the Haven at Lost Mountain, an active adult community located in west Cobb. The Haven at Lost Mountain offers spectacular homes from the $190,00s specifically designed for active adults. Kubecka quickly moved in and established herself as a permanent resident,  parking her car in the visitor’s lot each day.

Living in the community has proven to be a terrific selling point for Kubecka, who finds that the relationships with her clients change immediately upon finding out that she also lives in the community where she works.

“We are able to develop a conversation and a relationship as neighbors.” said Kubecka. “That’s what’s really neat about this arrangement.”

Who knows? As gas prices go up and traffic increases maybe more and more Georgians will find themselves following Kubecka’s lead and moving their homes closer to work.Atlanta real estate

The Atlanta Business Chronicle publishes a lifestyle magazine once a month known as Living in Atlanta. Offering readers a little more than the regular business and industry news of the Chronicle, Living in Atlanta features insight into Atlanta events, popular restaurants and other articles devoted to various factors associated with life in Atlanta. However, readers should pay special attention to the most recent issue as there is a brief interview with Tamra Hesse, director of marketing for Jim Chapman Communities.

When it comes to lifestyles in Atlanta, an interview with Tamara is a perfect fit because not only is she the marketing director for the metro Atlanta active adult home builder, but she is also the director of lifestyle. In this capacity, Tamara is the one to plan events, trips and basically oversee the social life at the seven different communities from Jim Chapman Communities.

Anyone familiar with the active adult home building industry in Atlanta knows just how hard Tamara works to make sure every Jim Chapman homeowner has days filled with holiday parties, bridge tournaments, pool parties, potluck dinners and more. This brief interview on page 23 of the latest Living in Atlanta gives you a little insight into what it’s like being Tamara Hesse and a Jim Chapman homeowner. Be sure to check it out!

Agent On-Site 24/7 at The Haven at Lost Mountain in West Cobb

Karen Kubecka’s commute to work is rather short, approximately 25 feet to be exact. Kubecka an agent at Jim Chapman Communities, The Haven at Lost Mountain is about as hands on as any real estate agent can be. In addition to living on-site, Kubecka also develops her own newsletter for the community and sends out regular e-blasts to prospects and customers. It appears her hard work is paying off. This summer Kubecka sold five homes and closed on two more, all within a 60 day period.

“It is a great selling point, when homeowners know that I live here,” said Kubecka. “Knowing I live here changes our relationship immediately because they know I am interested in them personally. I also know they become more interested in me on a more personal level because we begin to converse as possible neighbors. That’s what is really neat about this arrangement.”

Kubecka, who will celebrate her three year anniversary with Jim Chapman Communities in January 2010, began her career in internet marketing, but was looking for something a little different when she made a career change in January of 2007.
“I was looking for something age friendly,” recalls Kubecka. “I wanted to something where I could combine my skills. At the time I didn’t even know about active adult communities. One day I was googling and ran into Jim Chapman’s Web site. I gave him a call and he called me right back.”

After working as a hostess at Jim Chapman Communities’ Brookhaven at Sugarloaf, Kubecka took it upon herself to get her real estate license. Upon completing her license, Kubecka floated between three different communities. When Jim Chapman Communities purchased two west Cobb properties, Kubecka got her opportunity. In an effort to make a vacant community lived in, she volunteered to move in to the Haven at Lost Mountain and diligently parked her car in the visitor lot daily.

“Because she is an active adult, she is a perfect example of the type of person who lives in our community,” said Tamara Hesse, director of marking and lifestyles for Jim Chapman Communities.

The Haven at Lost Mountain offers homes from the $190,000s specifically designed for today’s active adult. To view a model home, or for more information about the community, please call Karen Kubecka at 404-277-2644.

To visit the community, from Atlanta, take I-75 North to exit 265, Hwy 120 West. Turn left off the ramp onto North Marietta Parkway. Travel approximately 2.3 miles and turn right onto Whitlock Avenue, following Hwy 120 West. Whitlock turns into Dallas Highway; travel approximately 8 miles. The Haven at Lost Mountain will be on your right.

Homeowners Love Social Events at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf

Atlanta active adult community

The term “active adult community” is thrown around a lot, but it seems that only a few metro Atlanta builders have really produced a product that is worthy of being called “active.” Jim Chapman Communities is one of these builders. Not only do they build spacious ranch condos and detached homes designed for the aging population, but they plan and organize neighborhood events that keep residents active as well as create a sense of community between neighbors.

Last month, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution interviewed a homeowner at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf to see exactly what it is she likes about the community. Sarah Benoit described in detail the many social events, like monthly potluck dinners, luncheons, coffee clubs, parties and more, that keep her and her husband busy. She talks about how her lifestyle is much more social than it used to be when she lived in Snellville. It’s a great article that gives an overview of what exactly it means to live in an active adult community.

The ranch condos at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf are priced from $280,000 and offer elegant details such as custom wood trim, 12 to 16 foot vaulted ceilings, great rooms with gas fireplaces featuring decorative wood mantels and master suite baths with large his/her vanities with full-length mirrors and ceramic tile showers. The community was even named the 2008 Fifty Plus Community of the Year by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.

If you read the article on Sarah’s lifestyle and thought “that sounds exactly like what I am looking for,” make your way to Brookhaven at Sugarloaf to claim your new active adult home (only if you are over 55 of course).
