When was the last time your homeowner’s association organized a vacation for you, your neighbors and any family members or friends you wanted to go with you? If the answer to that question is “never,” then maybe you should start thinking of relocating to a community that helps encourage an active social life, like a community from Jim Chapman Communities. Of course, these are active adult communities, which means only adults aged 55 and older can purchase a home there, but for those that do fit in the age group, Jim Chapman Communities employs a full time social activities director who plans fun community events and plans outings for the Travel Club. These “outings” are not limited to Atlanta attractions – it is a real travel club that will take residents across the nation and to foreign countries and give them the opportunity to see places that they may never had the chance to before.
In October, the Travel Club has planned a 3-day/2-night trip to Biloxi, Mississippi. We’ll head to Biloxi on Friday morning October 16th, stay at the fabulous Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino (pictured) and head back on Sunday afternoon, October 18th, after lunch. Saturday night, the world renowned saxophonist, Kenny G., will be in concert at the Beau Rivage, and tickets can be provided as an optional extra. The package includes two nights at the fabulous Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino, deluxe motor coach transportation, breakfast each morning at at the hotel, baggage handles and taxes. The more passengers we have signed up, the cheaper it is per person:
- For 50 paid passengers, $259 double, $199 triple
- For 40 paid passengers, $279 double, $220 triple
- For 30 paid passengers $314 double, $253 triple.
The trip is open to homeowners, potential homeowners and their friends and families. So, now is the time to round up your neighbors and friends and plan a fun weekend getaway in October for a fraction of what the cost would be if you planned this trip on your own.
Jim Chapman Communities has active adult communities in Cobb, Douglas, Gwinnett, Fulton and Forsyth counties.

Even in these tough economic times, Jim Chapman continues to sell homes. Atlanta’s leading active adult home builder had an enjoyed incredible success in the month of June signing 10 contracts and closing on 5 homes. Specifically, they signed one contract at The Haven at Slater Mill, two at Brookhaven of East Cobb, one at Brookhaven of Lanker Ridge, two at Brookhaven of Johns Creek and three contracts at The Haven at Lost Mountain.
Not wanting to slow down, July was a great month with 5 more closings.
It seems that active adults still want to buy homes in any one of the Jim Chapman Communities despite the down economy. The dream of living in an a 55 plus community is just too important to let go for some adults. For example, Perry and Anne Oliver recently purchased a winter home at the Brookhaven of East Cobb community. They love the features and amenities offered at the active adult community. In particular they enjoy the community spirit at Brookhaven at East Cobb.
Jim Chapman Communities is happy to build elegant and affordable one level ranch condominiums and detached homes in communities across metro Atlanta. The Atlanta low maintenance builder hopes to continue providing adults with their dream retirement home.
