Jim Chapman Communities Creates Active Adult Community – Brookhaven at Sugarloaf

Jim Chapman Communities is pleased to announce its first venture into the Gwinnett County active adult new home market with the opening of Brookhaven at Sugarloaf in Duluth. Welcoming adults ages 55 and older, the step-free ranch condominium homes at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf are priced from the low $200,000s.

Using his experience as a builder of million dollar custom homes, Jim Chapman, Jr., President of Jim Chapman Communities, set out to create an elegant yet affordable collection of homes. The result is a gated community where active adults can make the step to maintenance-free living while still occupying their own spacious, private homes.

“For empty nesters, life after careers and raising families is a special time,” said Jim Chapman. “At this stage in life, adults have earned the right to own a delightful new home in a community with an array of fabulous amenities. Brookhaven at Sugarloaf is a community where the maintenance part of home ownership can be turned over to someone else and adults can begin enjoying a carefree lifestyle.”

Built with active lifestyles in mind, the two or three bedroom homes at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf are ideal for individuals or couples. The functional yet cozy homes offer elegant details such as custom wood trim, 12 to 16 foot vaulted ceilings, great rooms with gas fireplaces featuring decorative wood mantels and master suite baths with large his/her vanities with full-length mirrors and ceramic tile showers. With more time to enjoy friends and family, the homes provide ample space for entertaining, including kitchens with casual breakfast bars, gourmet GE appliances and custom cabinetry. Homeowners can choose from two different plans, offering up to 1,875 square feet of living space with two-car garages, and plenty of custom options to reflect their own personal needs and taste.

In addition to the charming details, the homes also are built with older adults in mind. The one-level ranch homes meet wheelchair access standards – with a step-free entrance and larger doorways and bathrooms – that make maneuvering around the homes easier for all occupants.

The homes’ exteriors are as architecturally pleasing as the interiors. Finished in an array of maintenance-free materials, exteriors come standard in full brick with stacked stone accents. Homeowners will enjoy the large Southern front porches with columns and bead board ceilings, and every home boasts a roomy patio for grilling, entertaining or enjoying the outdoors.

Lawns are professionally landscaped and maintained by a mandatory Condo Owners Association.

“For the homeowners at Brookhaven at Sugarloaf, life will take on a new meaning,” continued Chapman. “One of the biggest joys that comes with an empty nest is the extra time for socializing and the freedom that comes with a more carefree lifestyle.”

With more time to socialize, homeowners will enjoy the Charleston-inspired clubhouse in the community. There, homeowners can arrange private gatherings or community events, and they will have full access to the meeting/dining room, exercise facility, spacious veranda and swimming pool, as the well as the large great room with wood burning fireplace and full kitchen.
